Xsnow

Xsnow is an X11 application.

It creates Xmas on your desktop with the following items:

snow, Santa, moon, stars, meteorites, birds and aurora.

Snow will collect on the windows and the bottom of the screen.

Preferences can be set with the comprehensive graphical interface

or on the command line.

Xsnow can also be used in combination with XScreenSaver.
